Historical Profile: Edna St. Vincent Millay
Camden, ME. - Edna St. Vincent Millay (1892 - 1950) was born in Rockland, Maine. Millay was a lyrical poet and playwright. In 1923, Millay became the first woman to win the Pulitzer prize in poetry. In Camden, Maine there is a sculpture of Millay and a plaque dedicated to her on Mt. Battie atop Camden Hills State Park.
